Mike Brown Earns Association Management Specialist Credential

CAMS (Community Association Management Services) is thrilled to announce that Community Manager Mike Brown, CMCA, has earned his Association Management Specialist (AMS) designation.

Brown joined CAMS in 2022 and is currently a dedicated on-site manager for a community in Wilmington, NC. He previously worked in Canada’s retirement housing industry, where he served in various roles, such as regional vice president and director of operations.

“When I first joined CAMS, I wanted to ensure I had all the tools necessary to provide excellent service,” said Brown. “Earning my AMS has given me confidence in managing my community more effectively, and the certification allows me to bring CAMS Core Value we are here to learn and grow into all I do.”

Regional Vice President Kevin Harrell couldn’t be prouder of Brown’s accomplishment.

“Earning the AMS designation is a testament to Mike’s dedication and expertise,” remarked Harrell. “He is a fantastic manager and an asset to his community and the CAMS organization.”

To earn the AMS®, managers must have training and practical industry knowledge to provide outstanding management services. AMS® designees must also be able to prepare budgets and financial reports, understand legal obligations, select and supervise contractors, understand insurance requirements, and have productive working relationships with board members, owners, and service providers.
